On Letting Go…

While working on the set for AGT, I got a taste of what it is working in show business. The hours were intense, early mornings and late days of filming and shoots with a lunch provided that was anything but delicious.

Sure, its not for everyone. Having the experience working with a major network like NBC made me realize that hard work is something that comes with the territory of being successful. Many folks in the magic business eventually break out into the entertainment industry because at the core of magic, isn’t that the reason why we all love it? Being mystified, tricked, fooled, entertained, whatever you call it, is why we love it so much.

When I was called in to shooting for Americas Got Talent, I did not know what to expect, except to expect the unexpected. I started getting lots of traffic to my Instagram page and lots of congratulatory remarks from friends and followers online. I even had an article written about me, (which I will provide a link here). It seemed like a lot to digest at the time and I learned a valuable lesson at the end of shooting and the audition. Needless to say, I was rejected and I knew I had freaked them out…I made a connection and my name was out there now. I learned to let go of the feeling of rejection and embrace it!

I don’t regret anything about the experience and I'm glad it went the way it did because it made me even more hungry, more driven and more dedicated to sharpen my sword and come back even stronger. As the old Rocky quote goes, “it’s not how hard you can hit, it’s how hard you get hit and get back up that really matters!'“ I’m paraphrasing here, but you get the idea. Stay magical!
